Inter-collegiate Debate Contest held by Kamla Nehru Mahavidyalaya

Nagpur: The city-based Kamla Nehru Mahavidyalaya organized an inter-collegiate Debate Contest for teachers, both junior and senior college teachers, on October 17, 2016, to mark the 12th death anniversary of Govindrao Wanjari, former MLA and Founder President of Amar Seva Mandal that runs the College.

The topic of this Debate Contest was “Overall development of the country can be achieved through change in political power” in English. The same in Marathi was “Rajkiya Satta Parivartanatun Deshacha Sarvangin Vikas Hou Shakto” and in Hindi “Rajkiya Satta Parivartansehi Desh Ka Sarvangin Vikas Ho Sakta Hain.”

The event was inaugurated by President of Amar Seva Mandal Dr Suhasini Vanjari.

In all 30 teachers from 15 colleges participated in the Debate Contest. Each teacher was given 6-minute time to express his or her views on the topic. Most of the participants talked in favour of change in political power for overall development of the country.

The first prize was bagged by the pair of Prof Ajit Sadu and Pravin Bhat from Priyadarshini College. The Second Prize went to Mohta Science College’s Prof Kailash Vandhe and Dr Anand Sahastrabuddhe and the Third Prize to VMV College’s Prof Amar Bondre and Prof Pankaj Raut. The Best Orator Prize was also won by Dr Anand Sahastrabuddhe of Mohta Science College.

The prizes were distributed at the hands of Atul Londhe, State Spokesman of Nationalist Congress Party.

Present on the occasion were Adv Abhijit Wanjari, Secretary of Amar Seva Mandal, Dr Arvind Shende, Principal of Kamla Nehru Mahavidyalaya, Dr Pradeep Dahikar, Vice Principal, and teachers and employees in large number.
