‘Insane’ man attacks two friends with knife in Manish Nagar

Nagpur: Two friends were attacked with a knife and injured seriously by a ‘insane’ man in Manish Nagar here on Wednesday. The motive behind the crazy man assaulting the two friends could not be ascertained. Cops are searching the accused.

The complainant, Vivek Ganesh Jondhale (42), resident of Plot No. 128, Jaihind Society No. 2, Shyam Nagar told Beltarodi police that he and his friend Pravin Mina went to enjoy ‘Gupchup” (Panipuri) in an auto around 10 am on Wednesday. Midway, Vivek received a phone call from his wife who informed him that a knife-wielding man has come their house. Taken aback by the information, Vivek and his friend immediately asked the auto driver to take them to home. As the auto reached near ‘Ruchkar Hotel’ in Manish Nagar around 10.30 am, they spotted a man named Sachin Mandelwar standing there. Vivek asked him as to why he went to his house wielding knife. Enraged by the poser, the accused Sachin Mandelwar attacked Vivek and his friend Pravin with the knife. Vivek received deep wound on his forehead and Pravin suffered injuries on shoulders. The profusely bleeding Vivek and Pravin were taken to a hospital and treated for stab injuries. The motive behind the accused Sachin Mandelwar roaming with a knife and attacking the two friends could not be ascertained immediately.

Beltarodi police constable Suresh Shejav has booked the accused Sachin Mandelwar under Section 326 of the IPC and searching for him.
