NAGPUR: Political leaders from Nagpur are dreaming to turn this city into a Smart City but they have constantly turned a blind eye towards basic civic amenities in the city.

In one such example, the road from Chief Minister’s residence Ramgiri to the Ladies’ Club, where hundreds of people come for jogging and morning walk, doesn’t have a single public toilet. This makes it very inconvenient for the people as most of them spend around an hour on the road.

Civil Lines is known as a clean and green area, where prominent citizens of the city reside. But the absence of public toilet facility in the area is a worrisome issue. The administration should take steps to construct at least a couple of public toilets on the road. People have suggested that mobile toilets can be installed on the road for the convenience of people.

Kukku Marwah, Rajesh Thakur, Masand, Tony Jaggi, Munna Dixit and other regular morning-walkers said that public toilet be provided in the area as soon as possible.

They said that common people were not allowed to enter the Police Gymkhana due to security reasons. Therefore, the administration should look into the matter with urgency and construct public toilet for the convenience of people, mostly women.
