Gittikhadan police booked two persons for allegedly abetting a woman to commit suicide by setting herself ablaze. On February 13 the woman set herself ablaze and she succumbed to her burn injuries on February 18.

Earlier, cops registered a case of accident and started the investigations. It was revealed in the investigations that the deceased Maya Prabhakar Sawarkar (21), a resident near Dabha Hanuman Mandir, frequently had verbal fights with her brother-in-law Vijay Vyankatrao Sawarkar (42) and sister-in-law Savita Vijay Sawarkar (32) over land issues. The accused often used abusive language and insulted Maya who lived with her husband, son Nayan and mother-in-law Shakuntala.

Frustrated over the regular fights and insults from her in-laws, Maya finally took the extreme step and burnt herself by pouring kerosene on self.
