Nagpur: The owner of Illusion Cafe, Gaurang Shiksharthi, has been booked for threatening a woman and allegedly trying to extort Rs 36 lakh from her by blackmailing her. An offence in this connection has been registered at Hudkeshwar Police Station.
The victim, who is married, also owns restaurants in Nagpur and came in contact with accused Shiksharthi back in January 2022. Due to common business, the duo’s friendship grew.
However, when the victim’s husband had gone on a business trip, the accused made obscene advances towards the victim in July 2023.
He later started blackmailing the victim, trying to extort Rs 36 lakh, threatening to destroy her marriage by showing obscene chat, which the victim claims is edited as of September 9.
Annoyed over constant harassment, the victim narrated her ordeal to her husband and then approached Hudkeshwar Police Station to file a complaint.
Cops have registered an offence under relevant Sections of the IPC and are probing further.
