Nagpur: In order to protest against the illegal transportation of vehicles in Nagpur, the auto drivers in the city resorted to road blockade in front of RTO office on Wednesday. About 500 auto drivers took part in the protest, the call for which was given by Vidarbha Autorickshaw Drivers Association.
The Association led the crowd of auto drivers to the RTO this morning and started courting arrest. Meanwhile the traffic was badly hit on the road approaching towards RTO. As the protest continued for two hours, the Deputy Regional Transport Officer Ravindra Bhoyar came to met the agitating drivers and assured the members to soon check illegal transportation.
Meanwhile the President of VADA Vilas Bhalekar informed that they would wait for another week to see if the officials fulfill their assurance. However agitation would be intensified if the traffic department fails to initiate action against illegal transportation.
