Illegal cattle transportation seized by Khapa police

PS. Khapa date - 18-08-2015Nagpur: Under the jurisdiction of Khapa police station, its patrolling squad seized a truck illegally loaded with cattle during wee hours of Aug 18, 2015 at Bawangaon, 5 kms away from Khapa.

The patrolling squad suspected a truck No. MH 34/ M 3742 standing on the roadside, and when checked it was found that 10 cattle (cows and bullocks) valued Rs 50,000 were confined in the truck were illegally being transported. The police then seized the cattle with the truck, making the total seizure worth Rs 1,50,000.

The truck driver and other accused could not be caught as they had fled the spot. The police have registered a case under sections 3, 11 (c), (d) and (e) of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960, red with section 9 of 1996 (amended) and 30/77 MVA. The police sub-inspector Rajendra Jachar is conducting investigation and hunting for the accused.

Those who executed the action under the guidance of in-charge PI Amit Kale included API Mandave, PSI Rajendra Jachak, PHC Rajesh Dhruve and Raju Kadu.
