IIT student commits suicide

Nagpur: A THIRD-YEAR student of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Varanasi committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling hook at his house in MIDC police station area. The deceased was identified as Pushpak Lalit Sambhe (21), a resident of Plot No. 3, Satpude Layout, Wanadongri.

A police officer informed that Lalit was the only child of Sambhe couple. His mother is working in a spinning mill. Pushpak and his parents had gone to their village on Wednesday. On Thursday morning, Pushpak returned to Nagpur to attend on-line classes of college. In the afternoon hours, he hanged himself from a ceiling hook and ended his life.

As Pushpak was not responding to mother’s call, she asked neighbours to see what happened. They peeped through a window only to find the dangling body of Pushpak. MIDC police rushed to the spot and sent the body for post-mortem. However, reason behind suicide of Pushpak was not established so far. A case of accidental death was registered by MIDC police.
