IIA’s 22nd edition of ‘Rachana’ to commence from Jan 10

Nagpur: Indian Institute of Architects (IIA), Nagpur Centre, has organized the 22nd edition of one of the biggest architectural expositions held in Vidarbha – ‘Rachana’. The expo will be inaugurated by Sunil Degwekar, National Treasurer, IIA on January 10, 2019 at the Ladies Club Ground, Civil Lines, Nagpur and will continue till January 13, 2019. The timings of the event will be from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm.

Besides traditional stalls, several activities like seminars and workshops on painting, sketching, structural and product deigning etc. have organized simultaneously to mark this event.

“After Pune, the Nagpur Center of the IIA is the second oldest centre of the institute. It was inaugurated on August 26, 1973. Since its inception, the center has been conducting various activities for creating awareness about the built environment,” said P S Ahuja, Chairman, IIA Nagpur Centre while addressing the media press conference. Architect Aniket Khodwe,Sujit Rodge ( Convener ), Raviraj Sarwate, Parikshit Choudhari ( Co – convener ) , Parag Yelne, Atulchandra Mendhekar,Sunil Degwekar,Jiten Shrivastava along with other IIA, Nagpur Centre members were present on this occasion.

Ahuja further mentioned that the expo which seeks to acknowledge and promote the modern and innovative skills set in infrastructure will draw visitors not only from Nagpur and neighbouring districts in Vidarbha, but also from the neighbouring states, such as Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.

The registration of the event will be done through QR code scanning. This year the stalls are divided into three categories based on the sizes.

Indian Institute of Architects – Nagpur Centre has been organizing ‘Rachana’ – an exposition of building and interior design materials, building services, home and office automation systems and construction equipment since 1988.

As a part of its contribution to the society and to the development of Vidarbha, ‘Rachana’ is one among many activities routinely undertaken by the Centre. ‘Rachana’ draws professionals from various fields, such as architects, interior designers, MEP and consultants related to the infrastructure industry, contractors, developers, manufacturers, Government and business establishment’s and students.
