Nagpur: A preparatory meeting to celebrate the 68th Independence Day with great fervor was held at divisional Commissionerate on Aug 3, Monday, which was presided by Dy commissioner (GAD) Apasaheb Dhulaj. The flag hoisting ceremony will be performed at the hands of Nagpur Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule.
Dhulaj said, “Like every year, this year also the I-Day programmes must be held systematically and with great fervour, and all departmental heads should carry out their entrusted duties and responsibilities in this regard.”
He also told the officers to take special care of the Freedom Fighters on the day of main function, decorate the commissionerate building on the eve of I-Day and keep the premises neat and clean.
According to him, fresh drinking water arrangement should be provided under supervision of health department, and practice for ‘prabhat pheri’ and other cultural programmes be conducted in advance. He also directed the police department to get prepared for I-Day celebration.
Present on the occasion were Dy collctor Girish Joshi, DDE V A Dorlikar, Subhedar Rajendra Pawar, EE Vivek Mishra and other departmental heads.
