Nagpur: Husband-wife duo, both Directors of G9 Consultant Pvt. Ltd, a leading recruitment and project consultancy in the city, have been arrested by Bajaj Nagar cops on the charges of duping several job seekers to the tune of Rs 1.26 crore. Two other accused have been booked in the case.
The accused have been identified as Prashant Ramkrishna Karande (40), Raginee Prashant Karande (34), both residents of Flat No. 403, Agnirath Apartment, Manish Nagar, Yusuf Khan and Priyanka Vaidya. The accused in connivance with each other forged an agreement with a Singapore company for recruitment and lured several candidates. The accused sent emails through G9 Consultant Pvt. Ltd and won confidence of candidates. The accused took Rs 3 lakh each from the complainant Asif Abbas Sheikh (22), resident of Ward No. 1, Old Butibori and 42 others for job in Singapore. However, neither the candidates were offered jobs nor their money returned.
Based on the complaint of Asif Abbas Sheikh, Bajaj Nagar API Landge booked the four accused Prashant Karande, Raginee Karande, Yusuf Khan and Priyanka Vaidya under Sections 420, 468, 471, 34 of the IPC read with Sub-sections 66(c), 66(D) of the IT Act. The husband-wife duo was arrested.
