Husband arrested, in-laws booked for abetting to woman’s suicide

Nagpur News : Frustrated with continues harassment from in-laws, a young woman committed suicide on Friday. After investigations, Wadi police have arrested husband and brother-in-law of a woman while booked father-in-law and mother-in-law for abetting her to commit suicide.

According to information, Vaishali Mahendra Kanhere aged 25, set herself ablaze on Friday at her residence at Ward No. 4, Nagalwadi. Wadi police registered a case of accidental death and started their investigations.

It was revealed in the investigations that the victim’s husband Mahendra Ramdas Kanhere (36), brother-in-law Narendra Kanhere (27), father-in-law Ramdas Kanhere and mother-in-law Kusum Kanhere (45) had demanded money from Vashali. When she refused to ask her parents for the money, her in-law started harassing her mentally and physically. Finally, frustrated over her continues torture; Vaishali gave in to the pain and decided to kill herself.

On the complaint of Prashant Dhule (33), a native of Ralegaon, Wardha, Wadi police arrested Mahendra and Narendra while booked Ramdas and Kusum for abetting Vaishali to commit suicide. Cops have registered an offence under Sections 304 (b), 306, 498 (a) and 34 of the IPC. Further investigations are under way.
