HTC Desire 820, Desire 820q to hit Indian retail stores from Nov 4

The HTC Desire 820 and 820q were launched in India in October 2014 with an unannounced availability date of November 4. Many consumers who were interested have reported to Nagpur Today that the smartphones are not available in city stores as yet.

When the fact was cross-checked with HTC, Nagpur Today has learned that the shipping in India of Desire 820 and Desire 820qsmartphones have started only on November 4, 2014. They have claimed that the products will be available in major retail stores from November 5, 2014 onwards. The availability of the products in the city market may be as far as the weekend at the latest.

Some retailers have announced that the Desire 820 will be available in stores from late evening of November 4, 2014, corroborating HTC’s availability information.

The recently launched HTC RE Camera will be available exclusively on Snapdeal on November 5, 2014.

The Desire Eye on the other hand, will be available exclusively via Amazon by the end of the month. The company has yet to detail pricing of the Desire Eye, and at launch had said it will do so ahead of market availability.

On November 4, 2014 HTC also unveiled the Desire 820s, a smartphone that is identical to the Desire 820 in all aspects except the processor. In the Desire 820s, the newer model sports a 64-bit 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6752 processor with 4G LTE connectivity and Mali T760 GPU instead of the 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC (1.5GHz quad-core + 1.0GHz quad-core) of the original.

The Taiwanese smartphone maker has priced the Desire 820 at Rs. 24,990, Desire 820q at Rs. 22,500, and RE Camera at Rs. 9,990, and HTC One (M8 Eye) at Rs. 38,990, alongside the Desire 516C at Rs. 12,990.
