House-breaking theft in Nandanvan, Gittikhadan

Nagpur News : Robbers made away with booty collectively worth Rs 2.85 from Nandanvan and Gittikhadan areas on Thursday.

In the first case, robbers stole booty worth Rs 1.25 lakh from the residence of Satish Ramchandra Konge (61), a resident of Ramkrishna Nagar, Dighori. According to information, Satish and his daughter went to Mouda after locking the house. Said said, the incidence must have taken place between 11.30 am and 2.30 pm when he was out of the house. The thieves stole gold and silver ornaments kept in a steel almirah.

Nandanvan police have registered an offence under Sections 454 and 380 of the IPC.

In another case, Gittikhadan police have booked unidentified thieves for stealing cash and gold ornaments collectively worth Rs 1.60 lakh. Police said, Vitthal Kisan Dhanvijay (62), a resident of Friends Colony, behind Neha Kids School, Katol Road, locked the house and went to attend a programme with his wife on Thursday morning. When he came back in the evening, he was stunned to discover the shattered house.

Vitthal informed the Gittikhadan police who immediately reached the spot. Police informed that thieves entered the house by breaking open the house. They stole Rs 70,000 cash and gold ornaments collectively worth Rs 1.60 from a steel almirah. Cops have registered an offence under Sections 454 and 380 of the IPC. Further investigations are in progress.
