The scrap dealer was found selling these awards and mementoes for Rs 50 to Rs 100. Some people thronged there to buy the awards received by former MLC, a report in Sarkarnama said.

Prof Anil Sole has received many honours and awards from various organizations and universities. The awards he received were sold in scrap shops. It has come to light that the awards were sold for Rs 50 to Rs 100. People expressed shock and said that the honour has been ‘wasted’. Anil Sole was a graduate constituency MLC of Nagpur. During that time, he was felicitated by many leading organizations with which he is associated and was honoured with various awards.

The awards or honours received by Prof Anil Sole include a medal given by Gondwana University, Gadchiroli on the occasion of the fifth anniversary, a medal of honour at the Martyrs’ Memorial Day program organized by MLA Bunty Bhagdia, a memento of Bharat Mata’s photograph given by Lokmanya Sanskrutik Krida Mandal, Reshimbagh, Prerna Punj Samman of Vidarbha Hindi Sahitya Sangh, a memento with a photograph of RSS Sarsanghchalak Golvalkar Guruji. All these awards were also lying in scraps on the footpath of Ramdaspeth.

Sole’s Personal Assistant Vijay Fadnavis and his office got the information that the awards were in the scrap shop. As soon as he got the information, he immediately rushed to the scrap dealer at Ramdaspeth. He asked the scrap dealer to return all awards to him. Vijay Fadnavis reportedly said that Sole’s office was being shifted at that time. So these awards were packed in a sack. Employees were told to sell the other junk. But they must have thought it was junk and brought the award sacks at the scrap dealer, he clarified.
