Nagpur: Ambazari police on Saturday arrested a home tutor for allegedly molesting two cousins, both aged nine-years. The incident has raised concerns over the safety of children with child activists suggesting parents to not to hesitate while filing police complaints rather take the matter to National Commission of Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR).
Police produced the accused before court on Sunday which remanded him to police custody for two days.
According to police, the family was looking for a home tutor following which they came across Dnyaneshwar Nadekar, 48. The family hired him to give home tuitions to both the minors. Nadekar allegedly used to sexually harassed both the minors while teaching them. The minors were reportedly a bit depressed for some time. The accused had also threatened the duo of dire consequences if they shared the incident with anyone.
On Saturday, the family sensed that something was bothering the girls and upon enquiring, the girls narrated their ordeal. Family members then called Nadekar for meeting and also informed police control room. Nadekar reached the survivor’s home and Ambazari rounded-up the accused.
