Nagpur: Craze of hip hop has reached crescendo among music and dance lovers post the release of rap flick Gully Boy. The indispensable beats and lyrics make it almost irrestible for anyone to not notice it.

Unheard organised an event ‘Hip Hop Mixtape’ on February 24. Unheard Originals is a series of live events which focuses on giving platform to original works of talented and independent artists. The event was held at a city café with Thinkin’ Culture as their culture partner. The venue perfectly suited the purpose and gave gully look with stairs and bar stools for the audience.

The event started with Naman Upadhyaya and Shubham Virgandham hosting the show and entertaining everyone. Their witty banters left everyone laughing. The first stage performance was a dance off between team “dance it out” and “alchemy”.

They not only gave hip hop performances on prepared songs but also displayed proficiency in their impromptu performances on demand by audience. By the end everybody was laughing because the teams poked each other with their hilarious and enticing moves.

Two of the open spots were by Mohit and Amir whose performances gave audience incredible energy. Aman, Abhijeet Meshram and Jerry presented beat boxing performances. They not only seemed too good to be real but also left everyone in awe. The sounds and effects given by them gave freshness and left audience blown away.

Next up Mayur Thakre presented his rap about his struggles of life and beautifully told his story in words. Another good performance was by Crygene whose unique rap was about a girl he met online. He presented few more originals which caught everybody’s eye. Finally, after the amazing performances by all the artists Nagpur’s famous band N.A.R.C justified the last performance by performing their rap “Garam hai” and ended the event.
