High-voltage drama: Kidnapped builder rescued within hours by Sonegaon cops, 4 arrested

Nagpur: In a daylight high-voltage drama, a builder was thrashed and kidnapped from his office over money matter by 4 persons from Somalwada area on Friday. The builder was taken away in a red-coloured Maruti Swift car and detained in a flat and was demanded ransom money. However, in a swift action, Sonegaon police not only rescued the builder but also arrested the four abductors within hours.

The dramatic incident took place around 12 noon when the realtor Hemant Jham, Director of Jham Builders and Developers was present in his office situated at Soumya Apartment, Plot No. 10, Kanhaya City’s Environment Nagar, Somalwada. At the same time, the accused Ritesh Shalikram Pande (33) and his three accomplices of Jha Group Arvindkumar Ramprasad Singh (42), Sunil Kumar Chaudhary (46) and Balram Kumar Singh Navalkishore Singh (20) of Beltarodi barged into Hemant’s office and started beating him. Sometimes later, the four accused forced Hemant to sit in a red-coloured Maruti Swift car and took him away to Flat No. 101 in Max Sanman Apartment. After detaining him, Hemant was again thrashed and demanded ransom money. The accused threatened to kill the builder if he failed to meet their demand.

In the meanwhile, a woman named Kalpana Raju Survey approached Sonegaon Police Station around2.30 pm and lodged a complaint regarding beating and abducting of Hemant Jham. Acting swiftly, cops mounted search operation. With the help of tower location of accused persons’ mobile phones, a squad swooped on the flat and rescued the kidnapped builder and nabbed the four accused as well thus ending the high-voltage drama within hours.

During questioning, the four accused told police that the realtor Hemant Jkham was kidnapped over money matter. The accused abductors have been booked under Sections 364(A), 365, 342, 504, 506, 323, 34 of IPC and placed under arrest.

The operation was carried out by Senior PI Arun Jagtap, PI Subhash Kale, PSI Satish Meshram, constables Sanjay Gupta, Vasanta, Rajesh, Dnyaneshwar, and others under the directives of Commissioner of Police S P Yadav, ACP Tore.

According to sources, It is learnt, the accused persons had invested big money in some of his schemes in the year 2011. The builder had neither paid the amount of profit nor returned the invested money to the accused persons. Hurt all the way by the no return on their investment, they indulged in the kidnapping act to recover the money through ransom. However, the fact could not be asceratained for authenticity.
