Nagpur: Faced with the “dead” website dilemma since the past one and half month, Nagpur Police have decided to turn their website hi-tech. The “dead” website has put the citizens as well as media in the dock. The online chores have come to a grinding halt. Citizens are finding services such as lodging of complaints online, procuring phone numbers of police stations or police officials, out of bounds due to non-functional website.

Citizens are either utilizing Twitter accounts or other modes to contact police for their works. However, Twitter account has few takers. Only 2360 people are connected to Twitter account of Nagpur police.

A new look, hi-tech website of Nagpur Police could be functional by January 31, 2017.

The new website will have all features, would be secure and difficult to hack. The features include phone numbers of offices of all police officials, their mobile numbers, email IDs, Fax numbers, helpline numbers, link up of ‘Bharosa Cell,’ Twitter information, press releases, recruitment notices, and other necessary information, the DCP Sharma said.

According to sources, the new website of police could be www.nagpurpolice.gov.in.
