Heat is on in Nagpur, People move to shelter zones!

Nagpur: It’s that time of the season in Nagpur when the temperature plays up full radiance to push the people back into the cool comfort of their homes and offices. Once again the city streets have started wearing a desert look, thanks to the raging sun that has been soaring the mercury for the past 3-4 days.

The maximum temperature recorded on Sunday was 43.6 degree Celsius which was was the hottest day of the season. The city experienced heat waves as the temperature was 5 degree Celsius above the normal temperature . Nagpur city is for the first time working on heat action plan this year. The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) will initiate this plan. The NMC will be implementing its measures as per the figures from the weather department.

During the last 24 hours the mercury has increased 1.6 degree Celsius and most of the regions in Vidarbha are experiencing extreme heat. Akola recorded the maximum temperature 43.8 degree Celsius in Vidarbha.

According to weather department, the sudden increase in the temperature is due to the humidity and clear sky prevailing in the region.Entire Vidarbha is witnessing extreme hot weather and temperature above 40 degree Celsius.The maximum temperature in Wardha was 43.5, Chandrapur-42.8, Brahmapuri 42.8, Yavatmal-42, Buldhana-40.6, Gondia- 40.2 and Washim recorded 40 degree Celsius temperature.

Meanwhile the city moods have gradually in adaption mode and the scenes around is competely sychronising with the heat of the season.

Coolers are pumped into force at Maharajbagh zoo to cool off the wilds, while the vendors are making big sale of dupattas to cover face from heat waves. Kiosks serving cold beverages like sugarcane juice has made a striking comeback.
