HC permits petitioner to take legal steps against Honey Singh

Nagpur: Justice Bhushan Gavai and Justice Prasanna B Varale, at the High Court here, have disposed of his criminal writ petition filed by city businessman, Anandpal Singh Jabbal for action against famous singer Yo Yo Honey Singh for alleged vulgar songs, pointing out that as per the Supreme Court”s decision in the case – MC Abraham v. State of Maharastra -(2003) 2 SCC 649, it cannot direct that the investigation should be done in a particular manner.

The HC has quite candidly stated that the investigation is in progress and hence no purpose will be served by keeping this petition pending. The court disposed of the petition, reserving the right of the petitioner to take such steps as are permitted in law at appropriate stage.

The petition was for direction to the Pachpaoli police for detailed investigation and necessary action under the provisions of Information Technology Act and the IPC by registering an offence against the accused persons including Yo Yo Honey Singh.
