verdictNagpur News: The Nagpur bench of Bombay High Court on Wednesdayimposed fine on the officials of Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur university (RTMNU) for their careless attitude. The Court imposed fine of Rs 101 on acting Vice Chancellor (RTMNU), Registrar (RTMNU) and other concerned university officials. The Court was hearing the petition filed by Sunil Mishra relating to ban on 250 colleges.
The RTMNU and academic Council was supposed to be apprised and give proper details of the banned colleges to the Court. The details sought were of how many colleges have appointed approved teachers and other expected procedures. But the administration filed wrong information in the court.
The Court came down heavily on the administration for not providing correct and detailed information. The High Court expressed displeasure in strong words over the administration and Academic Council’s attitude for filing wrong affidavit.
The court also observed that how could K.C.Deshmukh and Bharat Meghe committee prepare the 250 banned colleges list in a such a short time of 45 minutes. The administration even after being given such long time could not find out any solution. Even after the orders the university has failed in appointing regular teachers.
The Court appreciated former Vice Chancellor Dr Vilas Sapkal’s decision of not allowing admissions in these banned colleges.
The next hearing is fixed for April 24.
