Nagpur: The Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Saturday said, “I want to ensure that no one in Vidarbha including Nagpur should face difficulties in earning a living because of physical disabilities. For the same purpose, the work of implanting artificial organs, giving tricycles to Divyangs is going on. Happiness on the faces of disabled people is my biggest satisfaction,” Gadkari stressed.
The Minister was speaking at a function organised at his residence on Saturday morning in which Solar Powered Motorized Tricycles were distributed to the Divyang persons in Nagpur on behalf of the Integrated Regional Skill Development, Rehabilitation and Disability Empowerment Centre (CRC) and in special collaboration with the Visakhapatnam-based Andhra Pradesh Med Tech Zone (AMTZ).

Gadkari said, “I enjoy serving education, health, farmers, poor and that’s real politics for me. After getting a tricycle, a great means of employment has become available to the disabled. The joy on their faces is extremely satisfying. Tukaram Maharaj says that service is religion in the lines ‘Je ka ranjale ganjale, tyasi mhane jo apulen… tochi sadhu olkhava, Dev tethich janava.’ (जे कां रंजले गांजले। त्यासि ह्मणे जो आपुले, तोचि साधु ओळखावा । देव तेथेचि जाणावा). I work on these lines”, the Union Minister asserted.
“All the people of Nagpur Lok Sabha Constituency are my family. I try to make everyone’s life bearable. I can’t do all the work. But my efforts are continuous and I don’t think about caste, crred, religion while doing it,” said Gadkari.
Features of tricycle:
The speed of this vehicle is up to 23 km per hour which is fully charged in 5 hours on solar energy. Apart from this, it has the ability to give a maximum mileage of 40 km. A very robust design and compact form factor, the motorized tricycle also incorporates an electric brake control system. Interestingly, electric charging of this vehicle is also possible. A power cable is provided for that purpose. Adjustable handle and battery level indicator are some other features of the tricycle.
