Guardian minister takes review of destruction caused due to rains

Nagpur: Guardian minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule has directed all the departments to submit a review of the rain-affected areas and also the expenses of its reconstruction and repairs to the district collector by Friday.

Bawankule was speaking at a review meeting relating to the devastation and loss of life and property caused by Thursday’s rains at Bachat Bhawan. Prominently present in the meeting were member of parliament Krupal Tumane, mayor Pravin Datke, legislators including Sudhakar Deshmukh, Krishna Khopde, Jogendra Kawade, Sudhir Parwe, Sameer Meghe, Vikas Kumbhare, Dr Milind Mane, Mallikarjun Reddy, chairman of the Standing Committee of NMC Ramesh Singare, chairman of NIT Shyam Wardhane, district collector Sachin Kurve, municipal commissioner Shravan Hardikar, and senior police officers.

The guardian minister has ordered that the review of the damaged roads coming under zilla parishad, PWD and the water supply process should be immediately restored to normalcy. Bawankule further said that the respective legislators of the constituencies should personally cross check the list of the beneficiaries prepared by the officials of the revenue department. The concerned legislators should ensure that the benefit of the government schemes reaches to the right person and even the last person is counted for.

Meanwhile, mayor Pravin Datke has demanded 59 crore for the repairs of damaged roads in the city. Umred legislator Sudhir Parwe suggested that the survey of the loss to crops in rural areas of the district should be jointly done by the officials of revenue and agriculture department. Likewise, legislator Mallikarjun Reddy suggested that the deepening of Gaurala nullah in Ramtek should be undertaken on priority basis.

The guardian minister has also asked the health department of zilla parishad, Government Meduical College and Indira Gandhi Medial College and Hospital to be prepared for the outbreak of any disease in the aftermath of the heavy rains and flooding. CM to take independent review

The guardian minister informed that an independent review of the loss to property and life will be taken by the chief minister separately. He asked the concerned departments to keep in readiness for the same and to be well prepared with facts and figures.. Bawankule further said that he will hold a meeting on August 20 with the additional chief secretary of the public works department concerning road repairs.
