Bollywood delivered its fair share of party numbers this year. Right from lungi dance to dhoom machale, party all night to gandi baat…, the Indian music industry churned out some of the rocking tracks that led Nagpur young movers on the dance floors. Here’s the city’s list of groovy mix this year.
Lungi Dance (Chennai Express)
This bright colourful track became the perfect tribute to Tamil superstar Rajinikanth. The song sung by Yo Yo Honey Singh, featuring Deepika Padukone and Shah Rukh Khan was a rage as soon it was released. It also received an ok from Rajini Sir himself.
Gandi Baat (R…Rajkumar)
Peppy number ‘Gandi Baat’ from Shahid Kapoor’s ‘R…Rajkumar’ was another hit of the year. The song had Shahid and Prabhu Deva showing some killer moves with a lot of energy. Shahid Kapoor’s rugged avatar was an instant hit. Not to be outdone, desi belle Sonakshi Sinha also showed off her sultry moves. Another song Saree ke Fall from the same album used an innovative metaphor to present the hero’s ardent love for his girl. The soundtrack has been composed by Pritam.
Dhoom Machale (Dhoom 3)
Katrina Kaif upped the hotness quotient of ‘Dhoom 3’ like never before as she sizzled in the title track ‘Dhoom Machale’. The song that begins in a typical ‘band baaja’ style takes its form and then enters Katrina Kaif in a skimply black outfit with red hot lips followed by a vibrant look which is equally hot. She is also seen doing some exciting stunts in the song adding oomph. Penned by Sameer Anjaan, the song is sung by Aditi Singh Sharma and features music by Pritam.
1 2 3 4 get on the dance floor (Chennai Express)
In this song, we got to see the naughty side of SRK as he turned the ‘item man’ for the pumping dance number. The actor managed to steal all the attention away from southern siren Priyamani. ‘1 2 3 4’ was sung by the music stars Vishal – Shekhar and Hamsika Iyer. The song was released as a promotional single on World Music Day.
Badtameez Dil (Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani)
Fun and peppy describes the film and its music. Benny Dayal and Shefali Alvares voice this party number which was played all across India through party season. Also Balam Pichkari is worth mentioning for its rustic notes which mature into a perfect Holi song.
Ghagra (Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani)
‘Dhak Dhak’ girl Madhuri Dixit’s song in ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ was another hit of the year. It was both fun and peppy, introducing Ranbir Kapoor’s character Bunny in the movie. Choreographed by Farah Khan, the song has some catchy lyrics like ‘TV pey breaking news mera Ghagra’. Ranbir, who is a self confessed fan of Madhuri, was elated to dance with her and is seen giving her a peck at the end of the song.
Ram Chahe Leela (Ram Leela)
Songstress Priyanka Chopra’s sizzling item song in ‘Ram-Leela’ oozed sex appeal. The actress who has previously shown off her sultry moves in ‘Shootout At Wadala’ and ‘Zanjeer’ set the temperatures soaring with her moves in ‘Ram Chahe Leela’. The vocals for the song were by ‘Indian Idol’ fame Bhoomi Trivedi. Priyanka dressed in a white choli, dhoti-skirt and sporting a tattoo above her waist looked even more sensual.
Dhating Naach (Phata Poster Nikla Hero)
Bollywood actress Nargis Fakhri turned in to an item girl in ‘Dhating Naach’. The actress looked smoking hot, as she was seen doing the typical latkas-jhatkas in her debut item song, which also featured film’s lead actor Shahid Kapoor. Nargis shimmied away in a black bling outfit revealing her toned body.
Babli Badmaash (Shootout at Wadala)
The Barfi! girl was not seen in a sexy ghaghara choli or any other revealing clothes but in an ensemble made of rubber and leather for her first ever item song in ‘Shootout At Wadala’ earlier this year. The electrifying song was sung by Sunidhi Chauhan, composed by Anu Malik and choreographed by Ahmed Khan.
Laila (Shootout at Wadala)
Adult film star turned Bollywood actress Sunny Leone’s debut item song ‘Laila’ from ‘Shootout At Wadala’ was everything an item number should be – bold, raunchy and dripping with sex appeal. This steamy song had Sunny Leone seducing John Abraham and Tusshar Kapoor. Sung by Mika Singh, Laila was heard in pubs and discotheques all over.
Tooh (Gori Tere Pyaar Mein)
Bollywood’s hot ‘jodi’ of the season Kareena Kapoor Khan and Imran Khan were seen dancing away in ‘Tooh’, a wedding song from ‘Gori Tere Pyaar Mein’. With all the glasses clinking and aunties shaking their ‘tooh’, the song sure reminds you of all the Punjabi weddings you have been to.
