Nagpur: Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) and Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) are jointly organizing the grand annual ‘Nagpur Mahotsav’ from February 28 to March 2, 2016 at Yashwant Stadium. An array of variety programmes will be held 5.30 pm to 10 pm during the ‘Mahotsav.’ The variety programmes will be presented by renowned national as well as international artists making the event a memorable one, said the Mayor Pravin Datke adding the administration as geared up for successful organization of ‘Nagpur Mahotsav.’ “The event will be an added attraction for scores of visitors to the Orange City,” said Datke.
The ‘Nagpur Mahotsav’ will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in the presence of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari as chief guest. Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule will be special guest on the occasion. The inaugural function will be presided over by Mayor Datke while MPs Vijay Darda, Avinash Pande, Ajay Sancheti, Krupal Tumane, MLCs Nago Ganar, Prakash Gajbhiye, Jogendra Kawade, Anil Sole, Girish Vyas, MLAs, Krishna Khopde, Sudhakar Deshmukh, Vikas Kumbhare, Sudhakar Kohale, Dr Milind Mane, Deputy Mayor Munna Pokulwar, Ruling Party Leader Dayashankar Tiwari, Leader of Opposition Vikas Thakre will be guests of honour.

Chairman of Standing Committee Ramesh Singare, Municipal Commissioner Shravan Hardikar and a host of Corporators have appealed the citizens to attend “Nagpur Mahotsav’ on all days and enjoy the variety of programmes in large numbers. Different committees have been formed to look after various aspects of the grand event.
Some of the notable programmes to be organized during ‘Nagpur Mahotsav’ include “Sadda Hak” Live In Concert by Mohit Chauhan on February 28, Kavi Sammelan on February 29 with participation from Munawwar Rana (Kolkata), Arjun Sisodiya (New Delhi), Govind Rathi (Sajalpur), Rachana Tiwari (Sonbhadra) and others. On March 1, Fusion event will be held presented by Selva Ganesh, Niladri Kumar, and Kartik while on March 2, ‘Marathi Bana,’ a programme of lilting songs will be witnessed. The programme will be presented by ‘Chourang’ from Mumbai.
