Governor directs Universities and Colleges to observe Yoga Day on 21st June

The Governor of Maharashtra and Chancelor of universities CH. Vidyasagar Rao has directed all Vice Chancellors of State Universities in Maharashtra to observe the International Yoga Day on 21st June at universities and affilicated colleges.

The Governor has directed that Common Yoga Protocol including Yoga Prayer may be followed as part of the observance of the Yoga Day. The Governor has asked the Vice Chancellors to invite prominent citizens at the Yoga Day celebrations. He has further asked universities to chalk out an action plan to make yoga a regular activity throught the year and not make it just a one day’s celebration.

Universities have been directed to upload details of the activities undertaken on the occasion of the International Day of Yoga on their websites and to send report and images to Raj Bhavan on the same day.
