Nagpur: The Gosikhurd Prakalpgrast Sangharsh Samiti on Wednesday took out a morcha to Vidhan Bhavan to press for their various demands. The main demand of the Samiti pertains to proper rehabilitation of project-affected people. Following are some of the demands:
• One of the project-hit person Raghunath Ganpat Karemore of Pipri in Bhandara District committed suicide as he did not receive compensation for his house from the administration. Action should be taken against the Administrative Officer for abetting the suicide.
• Employment policy be decided for making available jobs for Gosikhurd Project affected people. Financial planning should be done for the purpose.
• The Special Gosikhurd Package of 2010 and 2013 should be implemented. The compensation out of the package has not been paid till to date. It should be paid immediately.
• The Project-hit should get lawful rights for fishing in the Gosikhurd tank. A fishing hub should be created at Gosikhurd Dam and a cold storage should be built.
These were some of the number of demands for which the morcha was taken out by Gosikhurd Prakalpgrast Sangharsh Samiti on December 9.
