Nagpur: Yet another incident of extortion money demand and bloody attack was reported in city. The incident is on the heels of murder of Sitabuldi businessman Khatwani who had refused to part with the extortion money.
In the instant case, a group of five criminals and their accomplices barged into the house of Rajkumar Nandanlal Shahu (21), resident of Plot No. 11, Sai Nagar in Nandanvan area. The accused Nitesh alias Kalya Madavi, Suraj alias Zandu Kopawar, Suraj alias Nagi Meshram, Pappya, Rahul Thavre and their 5 unidentified accomplices demanded Rs 1 lakh as extortion money from Rajkumar Shahu.
However, Rajkumar bluntly rejected their demand. At the same time, Rajkumar’s cousin brother Pappu Chhotelal Shahu (31), questioned the reason for demand of extortion money. Enraged by the question, the accused attacked Pappu with knives in an attempt to kill him and also hurled stones and damaged vehicles parked in front of Rajkumar’s house.
Nandanvan PSI Raut, on the basis of Rajkumar’s complaint, registered an offence against the accused Nitesh alias Kalya Madavi, Suraj alias Zandu Kopawar, Suraj alias Nagi Meshram, Pappya, Rahul Thavre and their 5 unidentified accomplices under Sections 143, 147, 148, 149, 307, 387, 427 of IPC read with Section 4+25 of Indian Arms Act and launched a hunt to nab them.
