Nagpur: A group of 6-7 miscreants abused a man with casteist slurs and attacked him with iron rods over a petty issue in Nandanvan police area on Sunday night. Moreover, when the wife and daughter of the man tried to save him from the assaulters, they molested the daughter by indulging in indecent acts. All the accused have been booked but no arrest has been made so far.
A resident of Nandanvan, the complainant man told police that the accused Karan alias Kamalnath Pandey, Shantaram Pandey, Atul Bodhare and their 3-4 accomplices picked a quarrel with him over a petty issue around 10.30 pm on Sunday. The accused abused him with casteist slurs and attacked him with iron rods injuring him seriously. Moreover, when the wife and minor daughter of the man tried to save him, the accused outraged modesty of the daughter by indulging in vulgar acts.
Nandanvan Woman ASI Savita Yadav booked the accused under Sections 326, 354, 354(A), 504, 143, 147, 149 of the IPC read with Sections 3(1)(X) of SC/ST Act and Section 8 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. No arrest has been made in the matter so far.
