Students of Master of Social Work  (MSW) old course  belonging to colleges from Wardha, Gadchiroli and Chandrapur  gheraoed the Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) Registrar’s office and Controller of Examination Office on Monday, June 30.

According information, around 300 students of some MSW colleges were sent SMSes informing them to appear for their Viva Examination  to be at Purushottam  Dhote College, Nagpur on Monday. These students have already given their written examination, the results of which are expected to be announced soon. But the apathy here is such that their Viva has not been conducted .However, when these  students  on Monday reached the examination centre  for Viva they were told that it is cancelled.

Enraged by this, the students under aegis of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Sena (ABVP), Abhijeet Wadnere, Neeraj Chodarkar and other activists stormed the RTMNU Registrar’s office with their grievances. The students were then told to put their plea with Controller of Examiantion (RTMNU).The students then met the COE, Vilas Ramteke and apprised him about the issue.

The Chairman and Controller of Examination, MSW, Prurushttom Dhote was also called to COE office. COE Ramteke claimed that no notification regarding the Viva was issued by the university, then how come these students were asked to appear for Viva. According to students, at the very last moment SMSes were sent to them about cancellation of Viva.

Taking cognizance of this, the COE has issued show cause notice to the concerned authorities and has assured of conducting the Viva in next 4 days.
