Various Departments of Yeshwantrao Chavan College of Engineering (YCCE) had recently conducted many events as part of their curriculum. The Department of Electronics and Telecommunication too had successfully organized a National-level Tech Fest titled “ICON’16.0. The organizers welcomed everyone on the two-day Cultural event that took place at YCCE campus on August 16 and 17, 2016. The biggest Flash Mob was presented by the students of Electronics Engineering and Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering at Futala Lake to show the enthusiasm.

The ICON’16 Fest was a blend of Technical and Cultural events. The event executed nearly 15 different types of events focusing on the interest and needs of engineering students.

Before precession of main events Mallakhamb Act was performed by the trainees which drew a lot of crowd. Mallakhamb is an ancient traditional Indian sport. ‘Malla’ means gymnast, and ‘khamb’ means pole. Thus, the name ‘Mallakhamb’ stands for ‘a gymnast’s pole’.

A large number of school students presented their science experimental projects and also exhibited their creativity through best out of waste models in the event titled Tech Kiddos.

One of the most interesting Technical Events was ROBO RACE. This was conducted to showcase the ability of students in designing and creating an electronic functional model which then is made to compete with other models in a race.

The Second day of ICON’16 was marked by energetic participation from a number of students. Apart from the above events, many fun events including Chess competition, Tech Roadies, Tech Treasure Hunt, Volleyball match etc was organized. Many students participated in these events enthusiastically and enjoyed themselves to the hilt.

The ICON’16 ended with the felicitation ceremony. The Best Icon event was awarded to “T-Icon” and “Tech Pati” which attracted the participants to instill their compassion.

The Department of Electronics and Telecommunication of Yeshwantrao Chavan College of Engineering felt proud to have organized such a successful event. The in-charge of the events Roma Hemani and Sanjyot Ingle along with other organizers deserve appreciation for contributing their complete efforts in successfully planning and executing this event. The winners were encouraged with cash prizes for almost all the events.
