Good response to 100-day Yogathon organized by Renovatio

Being passionate about Yoga, Renovatio which conducts Reno-Yoga or Yoga Camps across the city has organized 100 days of Yoga through these camps from June 23 to June 27, 2016. Being the first of its kind Yogathon, the entry was free for all (except for Yoga Mats which participants have to get themselves). The timings are from 6:30 am to 8:00 am. People from all age groups participated in these camps and were benefited through the yogic experience and teachings of Yoga Guru Vittalrao Jeebkate and his aide Yoga Guide/Instructor Ghanshyam Katore. Many participants who participated in these camps claimed that Yoga sessions at this Yogathon is certainly a great way to start the day and come together with several other for a social cause and good health.

While speaking to Nagpur Today about Yoga Guru Dr Jeebhkaate, Founder and President of Renovatio Nakul Agrawal said that Dr Jeebhkaate is of 88 years of age and has around 70 years of experience of Yoga. After clearing 12th at the age of 21 and while doing a job at a bank he did his BA in 1975 and MA in 1992. At the age of 73 he did his Ph.D. Till now he has conducted more than 5000 Yoga workshops in India and Internationally. Dr Jeebhkaate has written 30 to 40 books on Yoga. Several of his articles have been published in newspapers over the years. In the last 40-50 years he has also been invited to national radio stations such as Akashwani and Doordarshan. Nakul Agrawal said that their organization named Renovatio means making miracles happen. Renovatio is the Latin name for Renewal, Restoration and Rebirth. The organizers are trying to do exactly the same to the society. Their main objectives include, providing a platform to people to work for the causes they want to, empower them and thereby create impactful solutions to social problems. This is being done through, Youth Empowerment through direct participation, Education for the young ones, Awareness campaigns and Pilot Projects, Resource Collection, Management and Mobilization, Workshops and Camps.

Nakul Agrawal said that the Vision and Mission of Renovatio is Education for the young ones. Their signature project aptly named “Dream Catchers” is said to be going on in Orphanages and Corporation Schools across the city. Another project is the Angels and Demons which deals with Educating children about sexual abuse.IMG-20160623-WA0007

He added that the Awareness and Pilot Projects include Waste Management, Garbage Segregation, Traffic Safety Awareness, Grow-me-Green which undertakes Planting and distributing plants. Other Relief and Rehabilitation Projects include, Nepal Earthquake & Chennai Floods

Resource Collection, Management and Mobilization include: Share-the-Spare- Clothes donation drive throughout Nagpur and Fund-a-Footwear – Providing new footwear to the needy in Nagpur, Amravati and Chandrapur. Workshops which they conduct regularly include Parenting skills, Non-violent Communication, Neuro-Linguistic programming and Women’s Self Defense Workshop.
