The Goldie gang members, who recently grabbed headlines over gang war with rivals, have been booked on the charges of usurping a plot of a 60-year old man and demanding extortion money of Rs 1 lakh from him. The dubious episode occurred over a period from 6.1.15 to 9.4.15.

According to police, the 60-year old man Nasir Ahmed Sheikh, resident of Rani Durgavati Square, NIT Complex, Yashodhara Nagar, owns Plot No. 49A in Nagbhumi Society, Near Patankar Square, Jaripatka. The accused including kingpin of Goldie gang Harvinder Singh alias Goldie, Yograj Singh Kake and their 4-5 accomplices in a conspiracy demanded half of the plot from Nasir Ahmed Sheikh or else he will be killed. However, when Nasir refused to meet the demand of the accused, they encroached upon the plot and erected bamboos and other material on the plot. Later, the accused Goldie gang members demanded Rs 1 lakh as extortion money from Nasir for removing the encroachments from his plot. The scared and shocked Nasim gave Rs 50,000 to the accused. But the accused demanded more money and even did not remove the encroachments from Nasir’s plot. Fed up with the tactics of accused Goldie gang members, Nasir lodged a complaint with Jaripatka Police Station against the accused.

PSI Raut booked the accused under Sections 384, 385, 386, 448, 506(B), 34 of IPC and probing the matter further.

It is pertinent to recall that the Goldie gang members were arrested a few days ago for waging a gang war with rival Little Sardar gang members. The arrest of Goldie gang members could have encouraged Nasir to approach police and file a complaint in his plot case.
