Gold Chain Theft Reported During MRI Scan in Sitabuldi

Nagpur: A theft incident has been reported in Sitabuldi, where a senior citizen lost a gold chain worth ₹2.7 lakh while undergoing a medical scan.

The complainant, Vinod Uttamrao Kadu (61), a resident of Manish Nagar, had visited a diagnostic centre in the Giripeth area, opposite the Regional Transport Office, on April 14, 2026, between 11:30 am and 3:40 pm for an MRI scan.

Before the scan, he was instructed to remove all metallic items. He placed his belongings, including a gold chain weighing approximately 30 grams, on a chair outside the scanning room.

After completing the procedure, when he checked his belongings, the gold chain was missing. It is suspected that an unidentified individual stole the chain during that time.

Following the complaint, a case has been registered at Sitabuldi Police Station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita against an unknown person.

Police have initiated an investigation and are reviewing available leads to identify the suspect. Efforts are underway to recover the stolen property.
