Nagpur: This might sound UNREALISTIC, but it’s TRUE!!!
The Orange City Water (OCW) and Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) have jointly turned this unrealistic task into reality just in 12-hours with its technical expertise and experience.
It may be mentioned here in a bid to convert remaining part of Demo Zone into 24×7 water supply areas (uninterrupted water supply network) , NMC & OCW had undertaken an interconnection work of 450mm dia Futala water supply line with 1100mm dia. Godhni WTP feeder line at Japanese Garden Square, near Seminary Hills on January 20.
As per technical experts in water sector, the amount of repair and maintenance work taken up by NMC-OCW which was very much essential for smooth operations of water supply system of West Nagpur was a difficult task and required almost 24-hrs for its successful completion. The work was carried out right on the heavy traffic Japanese Garden Square road.
However, with its expertise and past experience, OCW not only successfully completed work in just 12-hours but also normalised water supple in 5 affected ESR’s and its areas of Dhantoli ESR, Omkar Nagar ESR, Mhalgi Nagar ESR, Sreenagar and Futala DT.
The interconnection work started after the morning supply on January 20, at about 10 am and was completed at about 10 pm on same day (Exactly 12-hours).
OCW Chief Executive Officer, Sanjoy Roy has thanked all public representatives, local Corporators and residents South Nagpur of city wherein water supply was affected, and specially the City Police Traffic Department for their whole hearted support and co-operation for (Managing the traffic during heavy traffic period) completing the difficult task before scheduled time.

No Water supply from Laxminagar Old ESR on Jan 22
Nagpur: Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) and Orange City Water (OCW) is planning to install 500mm dia Flow Meter on 700mm outlet of Laxmi Nagar Old ESR on Friday 22/01/2016 (Friday). The said work will require 12 hrs shutdown. Work will start at 10 am and will continue till 10 pm same day.
Following areas will remain affected due to shut down are:
P&T colony, Atre layout, S E. Railway colony, Kotwal nagar, Urvela colony, Dhangarpura, Tatya Tope nagar, RBI Colony, Friends Colony, Anand nagar, Gittikhadan Layout, Public Co Operative Housing Soc., N.I.T. Layout, Laxmi Nagar West, Buti Layout, Jagdish Nagar.
