GMCH to close down 19 gates for security reasons

Nagpur: The Government Medical College & Hospital (GMCH) administration has decided to shut down 19 of its entrance gates in the entire campus for security and hygiene reasons. The four gates will be for the entry of the patients and their relatives . The visitors will be checked during entering the hospital and tobbacco related products will not be allowed to be carried in the hospital premises.

On Monday, the dean of GMCH Dr Abhimanyu Niswade inspected the hospital premises and found that anybody could enter the hospital premises without any restrictions. In view of this, he gave orders to close the gates for security reasons

Dr Niswade informed that the patients are the first priority of the hospital administration. The gates of the main OPD, maternity ward, paediatric ward and medical suprintendent’s office will remain open for the visitors and the remaining gates will be shut down. Number of metal detecters and CCTV cameras will also be increased in the premises.
