Nagpur: A young girl has been repeatedly raped for over a month on the promise of marrying her. Hudkeshwar Police has booked a youth in the case. Cops also booked his parents and sister for preventing the 22- year-old victim from going out of her house. The victim told police that Suraj Haridas Meshram sexually exploited her between June 4 and July 22 by promising to tie the nuptial knot with her.
His father Haridas Meshram,mother Vimal Meshram and sister Mamta wrongfully confined her into the house. Moreover, Suraj withdrew Rs 15,000 from her bank account using her debit card.
On the basis of the victim’scomplaint, police registered an offence under Sections 376 (rape), 420 (Cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property), 344 (Wrongful confinement for ten or more days), 34 (Acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code against Suraj, his parents and sister.
