Nagpur: The police case against Congress corporator Bunty Shelke has snowballed into another political situation where former member of legislative council Girish Gandhi has come out in support of Shelke. It may be mentioned that Shelke was booked by Nagpur city police for disrupting NMC’s general body meeting on February 3.
Making a strong point to support Shelke, Gandhi has written a letter to NMC Chief Ashwin Mudgal. In his letter Gandhi said, “I learnt about the incident through media reports. Being his first term in the civic body, Shelke was not aware of the procedures and had committed the mistake unintentionally.”
According to Gandhi, any action against Shelke would damage his political career. “Instead, the civic body should interact and guide young leaders like Shelke about rules and regulations,” he said.
