GATE aspirant from Nagpur commits suicide by hanging himself in Hyderabad

Say_No_to_Suicide_by_mxmxNagpur News: A 23-year-old BTech graduate, from Nagpur, pursuing coaching for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) in Hyderabad allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in his hostel room, the police said today.

Kunal B Kulkur, was found hanging in his hostel room last night, they said, adding that a suicide note purpotedly written by him stated that no one was responsible for his death.

Kunal, who hailed from Nagpur, stayed in the private hostel since June this year and was being coached for the GATE test at a coaching centre in the Dilsukhnagar area, a police officer said.

As per preliminary investigation, it was found that Kunal was suffering from some psychiatric problem for which he being treated at a local hospital, the police officer said.

The GATE score is used for admissions to various post-graduate programmes such as ME, MTech and PhD in higher education institutes across India. The Malakpet police is investigating.
