Nagpur: A growing LPG supply crisis in Nagpur has left residents struggling to obtain cooking gas cylinders, forcing many to make repeated visits to distribution centres. The situation has triggered anger among consumers, particularly those associated with Sangeeta Gas Agency on Nari Road.
According to residents, the agency’s main godown is located in the Uppalwadi area, where customers are required to first obtain a token before collecting their cylinders.
However, even after obtaining tokens, customers are not receiving cylinders immediately. Many consumers claim they are being asked to return two or three days later to collect their LPG cylinders.
This has caused severe inconvenience, particularly for daily wage workers and busy households, who cannot afford to make multiple trips to the distribution point.
The problem is reportedly more severe for customers of HP Gas, many of whom have complained that delays in supply are disrupting routine household cooking.
Residents have also alleged lack of transparency in the gas distribution system, claiming that despite the token mechanism, cylinders are not being supplied within the promised timeframe.
Citizens have demanded that the administration intervene immediately and ensure regular and timely LPG supply in the city. If the issue remains unresolved, residents have warned that strong protests could erupt in the coming days in Nagpur.
