Nagpur: Hardcore criminal Raju Bhadre who was booked under the stringent MCOCA for his role in the sensational kidnapping of Ajay Raut for a ransom of Rs 1.75 crore was taken into custody by the Crime Branch from Nagpur Central Jail on production warrant issued by Maharashtra Government and produced in the District Sessions Court. The court sent the gangster to Police Custody Remand till February 22.
At present, Raju Bhadre, who was convicted in Pintu Shirke murder case and sent to life imprisonment, is lodged in Central Jail Nagpur.
MCOCA slapped on Khamla murder accused:
In a major action, Nagpur police have booked four accused in the sensational murder of Chetan Raju Adyagale who was done to death in busy Khamla area recently. The deceased Chetan Adyagale had gone to intervene in a brawl that had erupted between the accused and a person near Konika Classic Bar in Khamla. The accused have been identified as Suraj Elgun Gaikwad (23) of Kaikade Nagar, Akash Anil Manohare (24) of Rahul Nagar, Somalwada, Harshal Sudhakar Hiwale (19) of Rahul Nagar, Somalwada and Mangesh Arun Khelkar (22) of Sitanagar, Wardha Road. The four accused were under arrest since then.
The mastermind of the gang Suraj Elgun Gaikwad was previously booked for various serious crimes registered against him since 2013 including looting, violence at public places and was terror for society. In view of the threats posed by the four accused, they were booked under Section 3 of the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organized Act (MCOCA) 1999. Further probe is being carried out by Sonegaon police.
