Nagpur: Gittikhadan police busted a dacoity plan by arresting four miscreants including a juvenile boy in the wee hours of Thursday. Cops have seized a country-made pistol, three rounds among other things. A fourth member of the gang managed to flee and is being searched.
A squad of Gittikhadan police led by DCP Zone 2 Chinmay Pandit was on patrol duty and searching for wanted criminals on late Wednesday night. Around 3.20 am of Thursday, the cops received secret information that a gang of 4-5 persons had assembled at a vacant ground behind Kabir Kuti Sant Niwas on Beriwala Nana Dargah road. Acting on the information, the cops rushed to the spot and surrounded the gang members. Cops detained four members including a juvenile boy and frisked them. The accused were found in possession of a country-made pistol, three rounds, chilli powder, two knives, rope, wooden rod and other material. The accused were planning dacoity and planned to flee in a Tavera car. Cops have seized the pistol, bullets, car and other weapons collectively worth Rs 4.27 lakh.
The accused have been identified as Kuldipsingh alias Pinnu Shashidhar Pandey (28), resident of Anant Nagar, Gittikhadan, Dharamvir Shriram Chavan (30) and Pawan Mohanlal Pali (22), both residents of Paloti Nagar, Mankapur. The juvenile boy has not been identified. The fourt member of the gang named Osama of Jaffer Nagar managed to flee and is being searched by cops.
Interestingly, one of the accused Kuldipsingh alias Pinnu Shashidhar Pandey was externed for one year on July 27, 2018 by DCP Zone 2. But he still managed to enter city and planned a dacoity.
All the accused have been booked under Sections 399, 402 of the IPC read with Sections 3+25, 4+25 of Arms Act and Section 135 of Maharashtra Police Act and placed under arrest.
Apart from the DCP Chinmay Pandit, other members of the team include ACP Vijaykumar Marathe, Senior PI M V Chaudhary, PSI Sajid Ahmed, constable Yuvraj, NPCs Nilesh Ingole, Santosh Upadhyay, Imran Galakatu, sepoys Santosh Shendre, Kunal Korche, Vaibhav Kulsange, Anand Kendre, and Ishank Aate.
