Gang of five goons attack man with swords

Nagpur: A man was attacked by a gang of five persons with swords and inflicted serious head injuries when he tried to save his cousin brother who was being assaulted by the same sword-wielding gang. The bloody attacks took place around 9 pm on Sunday.

According to police, the victim Satish Devidas Gaekwad (38), resident of Rambagh, around 9 pm on Sunday had gone to a nearby ground for urinating. At the same time Satish saw the accused, Ajay Shende, Akash and his brother, Sonu, all residents of Rambagh and their accomplice named Johny, were attacking his cousin brother. Seeing that his cousin brother was being attacked, Satish tried to save him. Enraged by the intervention, the five accused turned their wrath on Satish and started hitting him with fists and kicks. One of the accused Johny hit Satish on head with the sword with the intention to kill him. After the attack, all the five accused fled the spot. Satish was admitted to GMCH in serious condition.

Imambada Assistant PSI Wankhede, based on a complaint, has booked all the five accused under Sections 307, 34 of the IPC and Sub-Section 4+25 of Arms Act and searching for them.
