Nagpur: A gang of burglars struck in a big way by targeting three flats in an apartment in a posh locality of city and decamped with cash and gold ornaments collectively worth Rs 2.51 lakh. Shockingly, the burglaries took place in the busy hours between 10 am and 12 noon without coming to notice of other flat owners.

The gang of miscreants first struck flat of complainant Ankita Sudhir Bapat (19), resident of Flat No. 6, first floor, Priya Apartment, Pande Layout, Khamla. Around 10 am on Tuesday, Ankita locked her flat and went to college. The burglars broke open lock of main door of the flat and laid their hands on gold ornaments worth Rs 1.05 lakh kept in an almirah. While fleeing the Ankita’s flat, the desperadoes targeted the flat of Yashwant Paranjape in the same apartment and relieved him of gold-silver jewelleries valued at Rs 1.21 lakh. Not to be content with the stolen booty, the burglars turned their wicked eyes towards Flat No. 5 of Anshul Kumbhare and looted Rs 25,000 in cash. The goons, between 10 am and 12 noon, got richer by Rs 2.51 lakh by relieving three flat owners of the same apartment.

And that too without coming to the notice of other flat owners and nearby residents in the busy morning hours.
Based on the complaints, Pratap Nagar PSI Kuthe booked the gang of unidentified burglars under Sections 454, 380 of IPC and launched a massive search to apprehend them.
