Nagpur News: In a major breakthrough, the Gadchiroli police have succeeded in arresting a top Naxal leader that may prove crucial in exposing several dark chapters related to Naxal Movement.

The top extremist leader Prashant Rahi was nabbed from the jungle limits of Chichgadh in Devri Tehsil of Bhandara District. The Gadchiroli court has sent the Naxal leader to 13-day police custody remand. Prashant Rahi’s arrest follows the arrest of a student of Jawaharlal Nehru University Hem Mishra, who is actually a dreaded Naxal. Hem Mishra was arrested from Etapalli in Andhra Pradesh.

The double success would certainly raise the morale of police who would now focus on revealing the darkest chapters of the Naxal movement and also crack major attacks carried out by the terrorists at various places on security forces in general and the audacious attack on Chhattisgarh Congress leaders in particular.

The arrested terror leaders were active in Uttarakhand’s Champawat, Haridwar, Tanakpur districts. Prashant Rahi, who was a student of Banaras University, is an Engineer, too. His daughter Shikha was an Assistant Director of the blockbuster film “Tare Jamin Par.” The hardcore Naxalite Prashant Rahi was first arresting in 2007. He was released on bail in 2011.
