Nagpur: Admission for third general merit list at collage level for First Year Junior College (FYJC) will start from July 26. The admission for the third general merit list was suppose to start from July 24 to July 26,but now the process will start form July 26 to July 28.

The First Year Junior College admission process has been put to frequent changes, earlier a revised time table was set for the admission process after which the admission process is being pushed forward.
Even the admission process of second general merit list hit the roadblock as the Nagpur Bench of Bombay High Court ordered a status quo on the First Year Junior College admission process. Earlier on July 12, the court ordered to extend the declaration of second general merit list.

A writ petition filed by a private college management claimed that minority institutions are surrendering 50% of minority seats and accepting general category students, which ultimately led to increased competition for admissions.

As the case was in court and we were ordered to first complete the process of the 50% minority seats. We had to complete the process for the minority seats and then start accepting the general category students to which there has been a delay in the admission process said Satish Mende Deputy director of Education.
