Nagpur: In an audacious act, a gang of four criminals from Nagpur kidnapped a girl at gunpoint from Balaji Plot area of Amravati city in the wee hours of Tuesday. The goons even fired shots in the air to scare a relative of the girl who was fighting them, according to reports. However, timely action on part of the police resulted in the arrest of two accused persons.
According to reports and police, the girl was rescued from Nagpur. Cops are suspecting a love affair behind the crime. The girl and her brother, both residents of Nagpur, arrived at their sister’s maternal place in Amravati on March 5. The incident occurred at 12.30 am when one of the family members came out of the house to attend nature’s call. He noticed two men on a bike. They were searching for an address. Coincidentally, it was his address only.
One of them asked the whereabouts of the girl to the man, police said. After hearing noise, the girl came out and identified the youths. They dragged the girl and asked her to sit on the bike. The man who is the brother-in-law of the girl confronted the goons and caught hold of the girl. The accused then pointed a gun at the man and also fired a shot in the air. They sped away from the spot with the girl, reports said.
