Nagpur News: Taking a tough action against the chain snatchers in the city, city police have booked a gang of four chain snatchers under the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA).
The gang was involved in around 21 cases of chain snatching cases in the city.
Additional CP South region Anant Shinde took the decision after going through a detailed investigation against Parag Gaikwad (22) and Parag Dangi (19, both of Mhalgi Nagar, Piyush Vande (21) of Bidipeth and SanjayKharwade (33) of Hudkeshwar.
This has been the second time that the city police have invoked MCOCA against the chain snatchers. Earlier, four chain snatchers and jeweller were booked under MCOCA.
Police said the gang was headed by Gaikwad were involved in the organised crime. The gang members were arrested by Dhantoli police.
