Four, including a woman, booked for duping man to the tune of Rs 4.20 lakh

Nagpur: Dhantoli police have booked four persons, including a woman, for duping a middle-aged man to the tune of Rs 4.20 lakh.

Cops have identified the accused as Anil Jain, Arvindkumar Jain, Deepak Shravan Shendre and an unidentified woman. Cops informed that the accused sold a 2700 sq ft at flat No. 8, Mouja Chinch Bhavan Manav Shakti Grihnirman Sanstha in Rs 16 lakh to the complainant Shankar Mahadev Gadhe (45), putting up at the residence of Arvind Shambharkar, Kukde layout.

However, the flat originally belonged to Pramila Rajendra Dhok who died long ago. The accused asked Shankar to give them Rs 4.20 lakh as the first instalment and Shankar agreed to pay the rest money after registration of the flat to his name.

On May 14, 2011, the accused met Shankar near Tilak Patrakar Bhavan and presented an unidentified woman as owner of the flat and recovered Rs 4.20 lakh from Shankar. However, the accused started avoiding Shankar after receiving the money. Soon Shankar realised the fraud and lodged a complaint with Dhantoli police station. Cops booked the four accused and registered an offence under Sections 419, 420, 468, 471 and 34 of the IPC
